Chelsea has completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United for a reported £40 million fee ($54 million). The 21-year-old Argentine international winger has signed a seven-year contract with the world champions, running until 2032. Notably, Garnacho was spotted in the stands at Stamford Bridge, watching Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, before the transfer was officially confirmed.

Garnacho expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s an incredible moment for my family and me to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy.” This signing brings Chelsea’s summer spending close to £300 million, with Garnacho expected to add firepower to Enzo Maresca’s attacking options.
