Chelsea will donate part of their FIFA Club World Cup winnings to the family of the late Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva. The Blues won the tournament in July, defeating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final, and earned approximately $114.6 million. As part of their bonus allocation, the club set aside $15.5 million to be shared among players who represented the team. In a joint decision, the club and players agreed to make a donation to Jota’s family, with each player’s share of the bonus being valued at over $500,000 before deductions. Jota and his brother tragically died in a car accident on July 3, just days before Chelsea’s Club World Cup final victory.
