Carles Perez, a 27-year-old former Barcelona midfielder, has been hospitalized in Greece after a dog bit him in the genital area while he was walking his dog in Thermi, a suburb of Thessaloniki. The incident occurred when Perez tried to separate his dog from another dog that was attacking it, resulting in a deep gash that required six stitches. He was taken to a private hospital in Panorama for treatment. Perez is currently under observation and may need surgery, which would keep him sidelined for an uncertain period. This injury has already ruled him out of Aris Thessaloniki’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Araz-Naxçıvan PFK. Aris manager Marinos Ouzounidis had planned to start Perez in the match, but the player’s injury has forced the team to adjust their lineup. Perez joined Aris Thessaloniki on loan from Celta Vigo this summer and was expected to play a key role in the team’s European campaign.
