Human rights advocate and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has condemned the denial of Rita Uguamaye’s NYSC discharge certificate as a “gross injustice”. Uguamaye, popularly known as Raye, was denied the certificate after a viral video she posted in March criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration. According to Raye, NYSC officials pressured her to remove the video, and her refusal to comply allegedly led to the denial of her certificate. Sowore’s denunciation of the incident highlights the need for fairness and accountability in the treatment of NYSC members.
