Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, visited Bauchi State on Friday and made a significant donation to two local schools. He gave N15 million to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and Intisharu Taufizul Quranic School, with the nursing school receiving N10 million and the Quranic school getting N5 million. At the nursing school, Obi emphasized the crucial role nurses play in Nigeria’s healthcare system, stating, “The nurse is important. The nurse knows the patient, the nurse owns the patient, the nurse is everything.” This gesture reflects Obi’s commitment to supporting education and healthcare, as he reportedly visits and supports around 70 nursing schools annually. The school proprietors, Aminu Danmaliki and Alh Usman Abubakar, thanked Obi for his generosity, promising to utilize the funds for the schools’ betterment.
